OK, I know a lot of you guys here know a lot about sites. A friend and I have been wanting to make a site, however, we can not think of any original ideas. I am wondering if marketing properly, are we able to make SOME money no matter what? I am open to any site tips, ideas, etc. I already have chose a designer I am going to use, they are just waiting on what I want. Thanks. Also, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I was not sure where to put this.
Well first you have to find an idea for your site.... not all sites can be marketed easily.. if you're an AMAZING marketer, you will be able to find a way to market any niche. First, find a site topic..
Well, I had two types of sites in mind as of right now.. 1) A magic site- something where people are able to post their own tutorials, and maybe videos, etc..or just a site where i provide all of the tutorials/videos 2)Humor site-I hear these don't make much, so not sure if I should try that. Also, my friend had this idea of a site: You just have a page which has some form of like a shoutbox. And people can post links to their websites in the box and can only post once every like 30 minutes or something. And than if there was enough users it would benefit the person because they are getting free advertising. And then have it like the 100th post every hour gets their link posted at the top for the whole hour. And then like maybe have it, if it got big, that you can pay like $5 or $10 to post more rapidly than the normal people. Let me know what you guys think
1) photoshop tutorial sites seem to do well, but how are you going to get people to upload their tutorials? Whats in it for them? 2) you are correct, I wouldn't make one unless you have something VERY unique to offer. Your last idea: This is like link dumping.. I'm not sure it would work, would the site be high quality with a good PR? Because directories are better..
This is why I need some ideas. As far as the magic site, I could get videos from my friends, etc. I just am not sure of how many people would actually go.
