Site Penalized... Any Ideas?

    Hey guys,

    My site has gotten what seems like a google penalty. Any ideas why? I hadnt changed anything on the site for weeks.

    whats the penalty?
    do you do reciprocal links?
    do you have heaps of footer links?
    do you link out to sites that may be banned or bad?

    I dont know what the penalty is?
    No reciprocal links
    No stuffing of links in header or footer
    No links out to bad sites

    The sudden drop in traffic.

    It was getting 300 uniques a day. Now its not getting any of google.

    Since when? After the panda update? If it's about panda then it's about content- check if your content has more copies around the net, if yours is original then file a DMCA and if yours are copy then write some fresh stuff.

    One more thing Other people are working to rank their sites as well. So if you were previously ranking in the page one and went page 2, or lower page one that is enough to get almost null traffic. Because the first 3 results get more than 90% of the traffic.

    that's not what you call Penalization is, if its rankings have been dropped then their must be some other reasons like duplicate content or tough competition or may be because of not updating the site frequently. drop in rankings is common and you can use the search function to find similar threads here on DP

    Its since the 8th of this month. I would be extremely doubtful if it is rankings for all terms on my site that have dropped or that competition has gotten so tough that I have been pushed down of the face of google.

    I will look for duplicate content now.

    I think that it is duplicate content or images problem. For site getting penalized if the above discussed facts are not responsible for it...

    Yeah i agree it must be for Duplicate content, Google panda has hit many websites for the same reason...

    These days! Google Spam Action team sends webmaster a notification email before de-indexing a website! although there are many factors of being penalized on Google! you should be well aware about On-Page optimization things like Content, Keywords and more

    There are many factors for being penalized. Please gone through Google Rules and Regulation to get indexed for good results. See seo factors for google results.
