Hi everyone, I hope I'm not spamming by putting my site name here I just want it to be a reference to any comments people might have... it's www.aboutmyplanet.com

    So here is some history:

    Up for 7 months
    Aprox 15,000 uniques per month
    Aprox $7.50 /day for adsense...

It's an enviromental website so I'm not sure how the ads pay... some channel tracking my crt is decent it can go between 5-15%... so I think my ad placement and style is good...

My adsense per month history looks something like...(i'm rounding for TOS sake)

    Mar - $1
    Apr - 52
    May - 72
    Jun - 54
    Jul - 45
    Aug - 281
    Sep - 215

So I'm not really a writer recently I higred writers, I'm basically putting any money I make back into the site to develop better content for the people... before I was pretty much copying it and linking back to the original article... I know bad because it's a copy but like I said I can't write...

So anyway there are now writers and daily posters on the site so original content is great... I also got an editor to help manage everything and she will continue to submit each article to the major social sites like digg, reddit...

So this is where I'm kind of not sure if I'm on the right track... basically I've always relied on big social sites to link to my site on the front page and hit it once a month or so... in Aug Fark gave me close to 20,000 hits and $140 as a result... but as far as organic traffic I don't think it's that great... and I'm not sure at which point in the life of a blog organic traffic is supposed to take over rathen then doing the manual work of going and posting every article to the social bookmark sites...

the good news is that everything seems to be working and I'm excited about new original content on the site but I guess I'm looking for some reasurance from this community any feedback good/bad would be great... I saw big improvements after starting to follow some rules from posters at this site I hope more people see growth like this....

Btw a friend of mine has a directory of BMW DIY articles... he has done nothing to the site for 1.5 years now and he's making $900 a month... pretty sweet deal... I'm not looking to makea quick buck here I want to develop a good informative website and I know it takes hard work I'm willing to do more...

anyway I'm attachign some charts let me know what you think I can't wait :)

ps I haven't done any keyword optimizations because of the quantity of articles it would be such a hard job but please let me know what would be good steps to take now that I have some data about keywords on my own site and what results I could expect if I started optimizing some archived articles for keywords...

Also I'm just going to start looking at adbrite and minimalls maybe I can get some extra income that way too

    thank you once again

you dont have many ads placed on the site. I think you could generate more revenue if you add more ads in smart places. Take a look at my 80s trivia blog, it does a good job ad placement that you could use.

I have 3 units on each page I can't place much more... I could use the menu bar trick to put the link unit there I'm not sure how much that would bring in...

link units do magic, give it a shoot and remember to use channels

track every ad unit with different channel and see what's the best performing one

then change the position or the colors of the worst one and track the results

always have a week as a timeline, don't compare revenue daily for every ad unit

Good luck with your project - i really liked your niche

and please, do yourself a favor and remove all those stats ( specially search engine and keywords stats) and keep traffic stats only
