Site Online or Down how to check??

    Hello, Please tell me how can i check my sites are up or down automatically? Like if its down i will know in an instant. And how to check server uptime?
    Thank you.

    Any desktop software for this work??

    I've seen a couple that will ping the server once an hour, you could probably do a search, I know it was free (don't remember the name though).

    Well most only check about every hour if your not willing to pay... But
    I normally sign up to about 6 of them or as many as I can find, that way together they will probally be checking alot more than once an hour :D
    I have also seen some programs that you can install localy on a home pc or another server to do the same job, you could get this to check every hour or min... maby even seconds
