Site not validating

I just signed up to the co-op, and added the php to the site (its a post-nuke site) and added it the code to the footer and still get no validation.
The ads I selected were : Text Ad only, (5) and as an add seperating I choose (space)|(space)

I chmoded the text file and added the PHP to call the ads to
    A: The page footer
B: The individual item template (dead bottom below google ads)

I then returned to the co-op page and tried to validate the site: http://viralauctions.com and got the error.

    Any help gratefully appreciated...

I 've just gone through the instructions again - and can't see what I've done wrong. Could it be because the pages are PHTML? I've just added the <php> code to the templates?

I don't know why the ads aren't showing up - can I just confirm the permissions on the .txt file - 666 and 777 on the php? I'm assuming the co-op works ok with postnuke?

If you check the source code you can see that the PHP is in there as well - i'm no coder sorry, so I'm stuck. :(

I think I know where I've gone wrong - does the PHP go into footer.php? I put it into the HTML template area for the footer. If it does go into my footer.php, I'm not sure where to place it. I'll try again tomorrow now. :)
