Hi, I manage the following site www.nickylumb.com . Its rankings have steadily increased over the last few months in both Google "the web" and the "UK only" results for many search terms but strangly it has now totally disappeared from the UK results even though the site is hosted in the UK. The site still ranks very well in "the web" results. As an example it appears third when searching for "golf bristol" http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=golf+bristol&meta= but is no where to be seen on the UK results. As i said the site is hosted in the UK (see below) http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/website-country/?ip=www.nickylumb.com Any ideas why it would be dumped from the UK results. Cheers
In the UK pages it is not appearing anywhere http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=golf+bristol&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB When i select "the web" it appears third like it used to in the UK http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=golf+bristol&btnG=Search&meta=
How long has it been like that? I have sites that have irregular 'blips' and disapper completely, only to enter again a couple of days later.
try getting links from .co.uk sites/ directories., For example: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...b.com&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...co.uk&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB bristolgolfclub.co.uk has 214 links from .co.uk sites, but yours has only 1 that too supplemental., So google thought, your site is not relevant to the .co.uk domain
Thanks for the advice. I'll try that although i thought that if it was hosted in the UK it would be listed in UK version. Matt - Nothing has changed on the site recently.
Sarathy has a point, a websites location isn't just decided by the location of the server or TLD, location of linking sites also make a difference.
