Hello all, My site is not being indexed by google.. while the other empty site that i had posted on the net for several hours had been indexed! they were all posted at the same time. It doesnt have much content though but my other empty sites had been crawled.. Anyway how can i check if my site had been banned by google? after checking the records it was previously owned by someone just dropped... should i email google regarding this? Thanks all!
In the Google text box - type site:myDomain.com This will show up indexed or not. If you uploaded the site just a day ago - give it a couple weeks. To fast start it - link from a couple sites to your unindexed site.
Grab a few links to it and give it a couple days. If you have a bunch of links coming in to your site it should only take a day or two to get indexed. Possible sources: Social bookmarking Article submission Directory submission Blog commenting Forum signatures & free classified ads
I already linked it to other site with my sig here.. there were 3 links in my sig before but after a couple of hours I removed the two since they have no content yet.. BUT THOSE TWO, were the ones crawled while the one with content didnt got crawled.. i suspect its banned caused it has some history after performing a whois.. I emailed google regarding this and also submitted the site for indexing. It's showing up pretty fine at yahoo but google wont crawl it..
Do a search for your site at archive.org. Sometimes they will take a snapshot of what the site looked like several years ago. If they took a snapshot of the site when it belonged to someone else, one You might be able to see what kind of content the site had on it. Then you might understand "why" the site may have been delisted and banned.
thanks a lot for pointing that out kev. *edit: no matches were found. but whois says there were changes in nameservers in IPs for the past 5 years.. the domain is with me for only a couple of months.
*another edit: doh i think i had placed a hidden text, my site is consist of nothing but: <div style="img here"><span style="display:none;">image description here....</span></div> is this wrong according to google? cause yahoo doesnt have a problem with that.. Anyway have already corrected it by using IMG and ALT tag instead.. now what? should i resubmit for reconsideration or wait for few more weeks.. this sucks.....
I have a similar problem as well so you aren't alone. Mine is a sub domain, I don't think that really matters. But I've had this subdomain for awhile and it use to be empty (no content) and it was indexed in google. Then I make a really good site out of it. 1000 plus word count good quality content and everything. 2 days later I check it and then it has no pagerank information. I was very frustrated. I then added backlinks 1 or 2 a day from good sources like squidoo and ezines. a week or two later still nothing. It sucks, first time with this problem. I think that site is banned for whatever reason. cheers!
this can often take up to a few months. Use digg!! Best tool I can suggest and will always get your page you submited indexed within a day or so.
