What if you don't want to submit a sitemap at google webmasters tool

Does googlebot sees the anchor links "Site Map" or "sitemap" as special?

    put this in your robots.txt:
    sitemap: http://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml

thats all you really need to do.submitting sitemaps is optional.
since bots look at the robots.txt first before going to your site they know that you have a sitemap and they will look at it.
there is no benefit to link to the sitemap.

i think "Sitemap" is the true anchor txt .

google is also using "Sitemap" word on their webmaster tools. not "site map"

If you don't submit, it probably won't find it.

Agree, It's the best way to inform all the search engines bots where is your sitemap located so they can spider it.
