    How can I insert the site map so it appears in my footer( responsive word press)? Will appreciate help tremendously!

    Hi,
    You should check footer.php in root ftp and start edit : before "?>" from the last line you should insert a link like : <a href="/sitemap.xml">Sitemap</a> .

    Maybe he has generated a HTML sitemap instead of an XML sitemap? (And wants to push link juice to it and/or help users find it?)

    a valid html,php sitemap in homepage/footer is not a top factor for ranking but it helps within on page seo

    here we have two thing to consider
    Sitemap.html for user to navigate easily
    Sitemap.xml only for search engine , not for users .
    yes , sitemap in footer can be added . that does not harm actually
