Site lost SERPS position from Page 1 to nowhere?

    Hi guys,

I'm hoping that google is still playing a merry dance at the moment as my site has gone from the SERPS page one for its main keyword completely.

I was ranking well within the top area of page one for the keyword Free Games and even had site links under my domain, i have run a rank checker today and now its gone completely.

I don't buy links for the site so its not been hit and i have looked in webmaster tools with no joy, hoping this will be very short lived and i will be placed back into the SERPS.

    Thoughts?

    Hi

Sometime this is a linking problem you might not have enough links pointing to the domain or you have used blackhat seo which now google has caught up with your site and dropped you.

    Hi,

The SEO for the site has all been well within the white hat seo guidelines as i have used methods taught to me by Eric Ward and seo specialist.

I have seen there are a number of people complaining of the same issue so i am hoping that this is just as a result of the google update and that i will be replaced back into page one very soon.

Same happened here little over a wekk ago. I think it is Google dancing. I am not to worried I am sure the site will return soon. Worse case scenario it will be after Christmas is my thoughts.. Many people are having the same issue.

It could be a temporary issue, sometimes experiencing such things might be issues with the data centers and Google updating them. The top ranking sites may not just disappear suddenly as they will return.

There are also rare cases when you're manually de-indexed for a keyword. I'm convinced this happened to one of my sites. It no longer ranks whatsoever on Google, not even on page 100, for the keyword within its domain name.

    Hi mates,

even I know this is seen normal in these day, but it's incorrect if you think really didn't make any wrong, IF NOT, WHY is your site not other site "temporary disappear"?

you site maybe come back in mean time, there is only 10 spots on page 1, SE need a spot for newly strong seo site for your keyword, then , they will pick weak one to replace, if your site keep build up or still strong enough, your site will back to same spot or up or down.

why they pick your site to replaced not other sites? because there must be something wrong at your site onpage or off page.

on page: link to other bad sites, undated too many keywords, etc.
off page: like list your site for sale, other sites hosted on same server doing bad thing, etc.

    only my 2 cents

or sometimes you have the opposite problem of building too many links too fast. Have you been doing any aggressive link building campaigns?

I'm experiencing the same. I have multiple websites with same infrastructure and code, just different domains targeting different cities. On November 5th my traffic from google dropped by 70%. Then week after my second website got exactly the same drop. Till now, none of them got recovered.

I have a website that covers over a 1,000 topics. I work on the content everyday. I used to be on the front page for over 300 keyphrases (not keywords :D ). But recently, these new websites have taken my spots pushing me to the 2nd and 3rd pages. This lowered my traffic by over 70%!

I ran a background check on these websites and started learning about their backlinks and SEO techniques. I implemented a few of those onto my own website and I managed to gain a couple of spots in the rankings, nothing major though.

I have no idea what to do.. :(

Your keyword is too competitive - 'free games'. Thats why it is possible that other sites have recently expanded on their number of pages and quality content thats why they displaced your site from the page one positions.

There's probably some update/upgrade going on at the backend of Google since its time they are releasing caffeine.
Me too experienced some fluctuation, but nothing went wrong in my case.

Google has teams who manually review search engine results, and have the ability to apply a penalty or de-rank them for certain keywords.

I also heard that Google has a team of over 5,000 people manually reviewing websites via a system that delivers them sites that need looking at.
I reported previously here about traffic drop in 2 of my websites. On November 17, my first website (that dropped first) is actually back in Google SERP as it was before. It took 12 days.
The second (that dropped 5 days later) still not, but now I 'm more confident that it will be back in 3-4 days from now.

I think it was Google dance and may be you experiencing the same.

There's many reasons why this could have happened and "free games" is pretty competitive. Is your site new by any chance?
