I've jsut started up a new site, did a few press releases. I get a few thousand htis over a period of about 4 days and then it dies off to like 2 hits a day. I woudlnt' bring it up but it's happened for the last 2 i've started.

Is this normal? what does everyone else get when they lanuch a site? and how are you launching it?

unusual traffic. the best is to have organic traffice that keeps building up slowly but surely. come up with good content and do some marketing

To go 1000s of hits/day to 2 hits/day is a bit unusual in my opinion.
Anyway, as people already said, you should focus on trying to get as many backlinks as possible.
You should also purchase advertising on websites.

Did you set up an option to capture your visitors? Otherwise, you may have wasted that initial traffic though i agree it's a bit unusual...
