    Hi
    I have a domain name registered with dotearth.com registrar.

    I want to discard the current website and host a new site on BLUEHOST

    What I did was, I went to DOTEARTH and changed the name servers to BLUEHOST.

    I am able to assign the domain name to my bluehost account. But I see that the old website is still alive?

    My question is, if i change the name servers, the old website should become dead right? Why dont I see any changes?

    The url to site is- http://tinyurl.com/27n7pj4

    Help pls

    you have couple of options, just changing NS in domain is not going to setup or change name in your site

    1. you can either add that domain in your old site cpanel
    2. Or contact their support to change your domain name in your site, that can be done only from whm/root access

    If you have made NS changes recently than it takes usually 24-48 hours for domain to resolve to new hosting, thats why you may still seeing the old site, though I see a blue host page in your domain, which means that there is no index.php page created yet on that domain account, thats why its opening bluehost default error page

    your domain points to ip address 66.147.244.190 which is a bluehost address. Your domain is hosted on BLUEHOST so your issue is solved

    Check at the ip your domain name is pointing if you changed just now it will take some time to propagate. If not just confirm ip your domain pointing to.

    Go to your domain registrar: DotEarth.com
    Then change the 'A' or host to the IP address of the new host at BlueHost.com. BlueHost will give you an IP Address for your hosting account.

    The Values should be:
    'A' = @
    OR
    'A' = yourdomain.com

    IP Address/Host = x.y.z.a (this should be the IP address of Bluehost).

    TTL = 1 Hour

    Wait for several hours or days for it to propagate. You don't have to change the nameservers. All you need to change is the host for that domain.

    PM me for more clarification.
