Site is ranking high in 2 major search engines but nowhere to be found in Google

The website is ranking high in Yahoo and Bing and according to yahoo backlink tool has over 500 backlinks, but the website in nowhere to be found in Google. It has been indexed, but the only way i can find it is by typing the exact url in the search box. When I type in the url without .com, nothing appears. Google webmaster tools shows no backlinks.
What could be the problem here? Is Google just way slower than the other search engines?

Google algorithm is different with Yahoo's and Bing's.. That is why you need extra effort to be ranked well on Google.

Generally google is much faster than yahoo or bing at finding and indexing pages. New sites can sometimes take longer for google, but usually still much faster than yahoo or bing.
