Site is in Supplemental Results

I am in charge of redesigning and optimising an old site (2002)

Currently, the site has around 5 pages and all of them are in supplemental results, due to no updates, barely any content and 0 inlinks!

I haven't worked with a site which is in Supplemental Results before - so does it make a difference? Is it possible to get it out of Supplemental Results with not much difficulty?

Thanks that's all I needed to know - I was hoping supplemental results were reversible
