My site ( http://www.belmos.com ) is started getting deindexed, my site is having PR3 and good rank in google. it was having more than 140 pages and all got indexed first. i was getting avg of 80 visitors from google, but yesterday there is the sudden drop in traffic and now i checked site:www.sitename.com and found that some of my pages got removed from google.

the fun is,,,, when i keep on searching the term site:www.belmos.com for more than 4 times, no. of pages got indexed started increasing by 1... first it is 63, then 64, then 65,,,, what is the problem, is my site got penalized,,,,

Maybe it's an index update. Sometimes I see this happen just before a whole lot of new pages start appearing for my site.

I would wait and see how everything settles. It appears that caffeine is slowly being rolled out so there will be alot of this going on for the next few days or so. Time will tell..

I also think the integration of caffeine is the reason.
Few days back I started a thread about some strange behavior of the normal G's index about 1 of my sites. Since caffeine is getting closer to became official index there are also some great SERP's fluctuations...

I see that your site has lesser number of pages at google caffiene URL. G is updating index this weekend and thats why results are dancing.

    Hello,
Yes, something is happening, but be worry about this: this is a long weekend (holidays) :) maybe this is why you have less traffic.

site:belmos.com returns 180+ pages, i can't really comment on your traffic or rankings because i don't have enough elements to judge your situation

    I have the same problem.
The site was created August last year.
In Apirl, Google indexed about 2000 pages.
But my team add 80 pages and renew the sitemap every day.
at present, the total pages indexed by Google are still about 2000 pages, even sometimes, less than 1800 pages. what's the situation?????

I'm pretty sure it's got nothing to do with caffeine.

    1) The number of pages indexed usually fluctuates in sites that are updated regularly. It goes up and it goes down all the time. It's been like that as long as I can remember.

    2) The number of pages indexed as reported by Googsie is not always accurate. It may give you N pages for site:example.com but a much bigger number for site:www.example.com. One day it may suddenly give you ten times as many pages as you are used to seeing, and then drop down to normal levels a few hours later.

    3) Google obsessively stores all pages, even deleted pages, and the number of pages indexed is actually far higher than what you will see.

On all my sites the number of indexed pages goes up and down from day to day. Ultimately all that matters is the number of visitors you get. As long as your traffic is solid don't worry.
