what is the technical way to make sure a site is indexed with a proper single name, such as: www.site.com site.com http://site.com http://www.site.com if anyone knows what i'm talking about... i may be using the wrong terminology.
For google, you can use Google Webmaster Central to specify whether you want your site to be indexed with or without www. What you can do with your site is to set up a 301 redirect so that you can redirect your site to wherever/whichever you want it to be and search engine will index it accordingly.
Doesn't matter, search engines know to add the http:// if it isn't there. So just pick www or no www, and stick with it.
