I believe a "hot topic" on a forum can significantly increase traffic and revenue for the website in discussion. I run an honest affiliate business and like many others on this forum I have worked hard to effectively market my site. However, at this moment in time I give each of you permission to review my website and critique it as hard as you possibly can. I know that there are most likely some very "Angry" people out there who will find 1,000,000 small things wrong with my site... And I am open to that. And I am sure that you will find many positive things to say about my site and that is fine as well... For this case study lets put my site in the spotlight! The point of this case study will be to see if a "hot topic" about a website (such as the rich jerk topic) can actually earn significant amounts of income for the site being discussed... For the next 3-4 days I will open this forum up for any and all comments about my site... Following the end of this time period I will report on my success/anti-success and we will all learn a thing or too.. Your job if you choose to accept it... Is to visit www.alreadyhosting.com check out the site and come back here and write your critique. In return I will private message those who participate with the results of my case study on Monday or Tuesday.
Not bad. The only thing I can see that is hardly noticeable is the middle bar "2008 Best Web Hosting Award" that needs to be slightly wider.
I'll bite It's not terribly innovative in it's layout, design or colours... but it's also functional and professional so that is good. Under the covers you have links like <a href="../index.php"> Code (markup): which are always risky - especially when you're already in the root directory. I recommend you use absolute urls for images and links such as <a href="/index.php"> Code (markup): You have some dreamweaver javascript on the couponcodes page (and I assume other pages) which really should be in a separate file. It's only small but... Now your CSS doesn't seem to be getting developed properly otherwise you wouldn't see the need for code like this <h1><br> Web Hosting Coupon Codes </h1> Code (markup): Surely you don't need a <br> in your title!!! After all of that I found your blog, it's got a nice template and is running on WordPress and that makes me wonder why all those other pages aren't WordPress pages - it would make things much more coherent. Sure you have some "submit your coupon" type of thing in there but that's easily coded into your own WP plugin or page type.
