Site in #1 on Google on My PC not others - WHY?

I checked my blog for a new post that included the keyword and then I checked it for keyword on Google.co.uk (same keyword), my website is at #1 position on my PC but when a friend checked it was on page 3?? Using the SAME url ( i copied & pasted it from browser bar).

Why is this the case?

 

Are you login to your Google account?

If yes, logout from it and do a search again. Google accounts the number of clicks of individuals who login to their Google account and will list the URLs which the account holder clicks most on top.

 

Just make sure that you are not logged in google account. It can be one of the reasons.

 

No, I have not logged into my Google Account, this is why I am confused.

 

Or try another browser or any proxy site like hidemyass.com

 

you dont need to be logged in now and you will still get personalised search results.
if you use firefox then you can use http://yoast.com/tools/seo/disable-personalized-search-plugin/

 

hey , wait for a while and check again, some time it happens,but within some hours all the things will remain same.

 

Google also track your search history even though you are not logged in. Another possibility: geographic location

 

when I use hidemyass it shows on 3rd page Guess I have a little more work to do.

clear your cookies and history first and then check your site..

 

clear your PC history and cookie as well and then check ranking, are you using any add on??
