Is it possible to edit all my links? because my site has been affected last google penguin update 2.1 and all my rankings drop down, some of my keywords are rank 1 and others are also in page 1 but they are all now not in top 100. My site don't have blog and what I did is that I created a blog for my site like in blogspot/blogger and I maintained. is it possible I will edit all my anchor text on my blogspot?
what do you mean by editing link? what I think you need to do is checking your link profile with ahrefs or majesticseo and disavow crappy ones (or all of them)
I will edit all my backlinks like for example I have a mini sites on blogspot and I have more than 20 posts on my account and all the links in my blogspot account I will edit like the anchor text.
You should be able to edit any links on sites which you control. Any links on sites you do not control, you will have to contact the webmaster of that site to ask them to edit the links. If they are unresponsive or not willing, then you can either leave the links as they are or disavow them.
The recovery tips for penguin 2.1 are still same as for penguin 1.0. What you do is just follow these instructions: Do link analysis of your site through tools (i.e. Open site explorer or majestic SEO) and download your links. Identify low quality and unnatural links and mark them in your file. Now remove unnatural links as many as manually then disavowing the remaining. Check again all the links. If you find all "OK", file a reconsideration request to Google. Now wait and keep checking you webmaster and analytic tools for Google notifications and traffic change. For anchor text change, i am not sure that if it is good technique to recover from penguin penalty or not.
I totally agree with what rozerr said. I would add some tips on writing the reconsideration request, because it's a very important part of the website full recovery. Make sure you consider the following steps: Write an introduction - start by telling Google what were you penalized for and a brief summary of what you have done in order to fix things up. Show all your fixing work - Ideally, when you fixed your website errors, you tracked them back into a spreadsheet (I recommend that). Now would be the time to show that spreadsheet to Google. Prove you worked hard to recover. Explain in a paragraph what you did in the spreadsheet, what errors you fixed. Be brief, though! Admit you've done something wrong. Don't try to blame Google for the penalty. Share some of your future plans with the website Apologize and wrap things up. Assure Google that now you truly know their guidelines (and really do). Very important: Be nice! You can read the entire article here: http://www.advancedwebranking.com/blog/writing-a-reconsideration-request-for-manual-google-penalties/
OP, it depends. First of all, you need to check inbound links to your site. Either in Google webmaster tools or using a backlink tool. Then you'd need to identify which links or anchor texts could be the problem. If you can remove them or change the anchor text, I would do that. If not, see how much effort it would take you to get them removed. I wouldn't use the disavow tool, it could invite a manual review and wouldn't want that. Wait for the next Penguin refresh and see if the positions improve. I also wouldn't listen to those who recommend you to file a reconsideration request of explain things to Google. You don't have a manual penalty, so any communication with google you initial could create problems for you.
I'm trying to understand the same. If there is no manual penalty, then it must be an automatic algo penalty. Shouldn't you just need to fix the things the algo is pushing your site down for? Why would anyone want to put their site under a microscope with a reconsideration request if they don't have a manual penalty? There's nothing for google to re-instate if it is algo driven.
