    Hi there,

A website was having constant position in Google for a hot keyword for almost 5 months. But now it jumps to 55 position from the 1st position. Even it was regularly updated and has reasonable back links?

What can be cause of this problem and is it possible that the site again get the same position with the same keywords?

Should we consider SEO a risky game or this big JUMP can be the cause of some mistakes and what can be those mistakes?

Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Regards

Yes, SEO is a risky game.

During weekends the SERPs seem to go crazy (at least for a majority of my sites). When did this drop happen?

    Hi there,

Actaully this the site in questions belongs to one of my friends. According to him he never worked on the home page for the last few months but he was regulary updating the internal pages. There was no affect on the site's position in Google by this update. His site was having 1st position in Google for the last 5 months for a hot keyword.

This jump happened two day before.

I want to know what can be the cause of this problem and how his can get the same position back.

    Regards

I have noticed that Google has changed their algo in major since Feb 20 and you may see many niche keywords has been put in their "sandbox list" (my own assumption) :D
