Hay fellow web masters! This is my business idea, and I hope all of you help me, and clear my way. I am going to launch "Local Events" web site for Sri Lankans. I have done lots of research and Sri Lanka is rich of cultural values and landmarks. NY times suggested Sri Lanka as best tourist destination for 2010.(Link). And I think it would be easy if I create a website to find local events for tourists and local community. I hope to put together the most popular concerts, festivals, kids events, sports events, and many more. Anyone can submit event and members can start a blog. There is an event calendar, blog for each member and image gallery. (Suggest me pros and cons) There were 1,163,500 Sri Lankan internet users in 2009. And I think that number is expanding. I don't want to earn money back, but I need to build a reputation in Sri Lankan Community because such a site isn't existed. What do you think?
Sounds like a good idea, get the site up and running and put some signs up. You will get traffic fairly quickly. Whats the internet per person ratio like in your country?
