One of my clients has asked me for an area for members to download files through a protected area. What I want to know is, what exactly would a non-protected area consist of? Surely, if members are downloading files straight from the server it will be protected anyway or maybe I've missed something....
Does the server protect the files so that only members who are logged in can access the files? There are certainly a number of ways to fail to protect files from being downloadable (using the correct url) while not being logged in.
I hear what you're saying Perrow. Only the members can currently download anything and only when they're logged in. I suppose this would consitute a protected area. The way it was worded just compeltely confused me. Thanks for your help again.
Maybe what you are talking is hot linking, well there are available scripts or howtos. Try this one..Hope it helps.. http://www.htmlbasix.com/disablehotlinking.shtml
