Hello, I have a fairly new site. It currently has a PR of 3. Some on page optimization has been done, ie kw, a blog. The site gets zero traffic from google. Some from MSN and Yahoo, but not much. Any feedback on the site, seo, html, design ect. would be greatly appreciated. Cordially, Robert http://www.refiadvisor.com
I am very active in this sector so going to keep this blunt and to-the-point .... my apologies if it comes over as rude/disrespectful ... 1) First an easy one Change your links to the "home" page to be http://www.refiadvisor.com/ instead of http://www.refiadvisor.com/index.htm 2) YOU MUST HAVE CONTENT! I see no content on your site. None on the homepage, and none anywhere?!? I don't see how you can rank for anything in any search engine without content. 3) Resources Page - WTF? What game are you playing with the subdomains? Maybe that's some lind of super blackhat mojo you have going on that I have yet to encounter... and if it works then good for you. What I get is a 10-15 second delay followed by a redirect to a 3rd party site. 4) Possibly in a bit over your head? I'm being overly presumptuous possibly but just trying to help .... Refi/Loans is one of the hottest/most-competitive sectors on the internet right now. In my experience, going after it takes a lot of effort/resources/money and maybe even a bit of blackhat (or at least not white). Of course it can be lucrative once you get there but it sure isn't a place to start. IMHO it's better to start in less competitive areas where you can get some initial success and work your way up. 5) The only way I can see this site making any sense is if you have some means to drive traffic to the site that is other than from the SERPs. Even then, you still want to offer a bit more info on the homepage and also collect a lot more and again more content will create more trust/confidence in the company behind the website. Here's an example of a site I designed for a company that drove it's own traffic ... http://www.newdayloan.com/ << again, this design/approach only makes sense if the traffic IS NOT from search engines. Otherwise, my points 1-4 above still stand. Good Luck.
http://www.newdayloan.com/ = nice site but the 'home' link refers to http://www.newdayloan.com/index.htm instead of http://www.newdayloan.com/ as you advised in point 1.
Actually there is content, you didn't look here: http://www.refiadvisor.com/pblog/index.php Also, maybe you don't understand the site. This isn't a mortgage lender; the site promotes a free book on how to save money refinancing a mortgage. As for the resource page, the subdomains do serve a purpose.
LMAO. Thanks. I'll get them to fix it. Yeah I misse that. That content looks good. Okay I get that. I think you might get a higher conversion rate if you offer up more information on the sign-up page. Maybe give a tip and then say order the ebook for the top 5 tips, or something. Interesting. If you care to elaborate I'd be interested. I don't expect it though I'll put it on my list of things to research/experiment with.
1) First an easy one Change your links to the "home" page to be http://www.refiadvisor.com/ instead of http://www.refiadvisor.com/index.htm How do you do this? Thanks

Hard work is fine, I've been doing that with this site for six months. Content I've got also...what I don't have are SERPS.
