I'm working on a site where the editorial interface is accessed through a subfolder of the domain. I noticed on the stats report that the traffic in that subfolder is contributing to the traffic reports. What's the best way to remove the editor traffic from the reports? Would a subdomain do it? Or is there a way to configure stats programs to ignore certain directories? I know it's not a lot of traffic, but I'd like to know the solution if there is one. Any thoughts?
Most Stats packages allow you to ignore things, like urls or visitor hosts, you should be able to tell it to ignore the admin directory and everything underneet it, and also tell it ignore visits from the editors ip addresses.
