What is up with G showing 1 year old cache for so many sites?

stale pages with no new links will cause that

I've seen this with some sites where google has had a recent cache and then all of a sudden jumped back too an old old old cache. I think there's more reasons then just a stale site at work.

one of my sites has a forum cached that hasn't existed for 2 years now. Google still shows it as a supplimental result for some reason.

I kinda wish they'd take it off.

Have you set up a 301 redirect to the new location (or the homepage)?

    Google is broke!

There are lots of sites seeing the cache dating back to 2005 - 3 of mine are dated June 2005.

Welcome to the "supphell/old cache" club Sgroup! God help you trying to get out. It's like Hotel California.

And don't even think about asking google. :)

Are any of those pages NOT in the supplemental index?

Do you have an example of one?

Exactly. Nothing to do with "stale". There are millions of pages that nothing ever changes on that get crawled and cached on a regular basis. Just look at all the archive pages out there.
