Site designing with Iframes: Avoid or use?

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by adianadiadi, Apr 4, 2011.

I have seen one of the seo tip is to avoid iframes. But my website design includes iframes. I would like to load my pages faster. I fear that the loading of same images everytime increases the load time.

Already my individual pages are around 30 - 60 kb including the images. So what is your suggestion.

How do I design my site without iframes?

Thank you. May I know where could I get straight forward information for Ajax. What is the depth of learning curve?

Ajax stands for "Asynchronous JavaScript and XML". if you know of these 2(JavaScript and XML) then it shouldn't be much of a problem for you. If not it can be a bit tough specially since if you do it the wrong way it can be worse than iframes for SEO.

Overall if you're not familiar with JavaScript and have the money I recommend having someone experienced do this for you. If not it might be best to implement this using a JavaScript framework like jQuery which can make it a tad easier.

Either way the important thing as far as SEO goes is that your site should work with both Ajax and without it, or in other words with both JavaScript enabled and disabled.

Thank you very much. I know javascripting and my site works with and without this. But I have to learn what is Ajax. If you have seen my site. Please tell me whether there is a need to go to no iframe version or not. I have to add only few div tags to each page if I dont want iframes. So what do I do?

I think using AJAX will not help your site much as I can see you have the images which will be loaded anyhow. Try using some cache for your site. There are many open source cache engines which you can use for your site which will load your site pages much faster.
And definitely get rid of your iFrames, its now a sin to use them on public websites :).
