Hey guys, first off it's been a pleasure reading about all the ideas on the site. Finally found a great place to read about what I could do to help me own website. I just had a question about web design and that is, does design of the site really matter? For example, is it better to use <div> tags and CSS as appose to <table>'s? Your thoughts?
I truly do not believe it matters for SERP. I just did a down and dirty page. No style statement etc. Have already gone back in and added style statement. My advice is do a good job first time around. Set up site so you can include banner, footer, menu etc. It makes upkeep of site so much easier. Good luck. Shannon
welcome aboard. div tags and CSS can make a site load faster and make the design cleaner, but it does require a good amount of technical skill. tables are more straight forward and can be effective as well, but do make a page load slower. it is just a matter of your own personal preference. go with what you feel most comfortable with.
Thanks, good to be in a crowd of knowledgable people. I agree with the technical skill involved with div/css, but I am personally, not well versed in it. Was curious whether or not to start learning. I'm definately interested in speeding up the site and might look into that a little more.
