Site design queries

I am just in the process of rebuilding my website which was built back in 1997 and then converted to ASP. Most of the software I want to use on the new site is PHP etc so I am moving to a Linux box and just copying the old content, where relevant, over.

Have a couple of questions about whether or not I am making the right decisions about what I plan to use to achieve this, and am also looking for a quote to do the job. Hope someone can help!

The site needs to be a fully automated digital content sales site, with some free content, and a membership area for unique paid content. On top of that, I need to regularly correspond with members through autoresponders.

So, I thought I would build the site in Joomla (which would allow fairly easy add-on of further components in the future), and use some sort of payments module to tie it in to Paypal. Not sure how you go about making sure the delivery is seamless though, nor which payment module in Joomla might work, nor, to be honest, how Joomla works!

There needs to be full integration between the membership/payments module in Joomla to aweber autoresponders - also unclear on how much work this might be.

And the site really needs a blog so that some info can be easily added to the site without it being an article, but this needs to be tied in to the email component at aweber.

Has anyone got any ideas if I am going the right way about this or if there would be better software to use?

And also, whether it would be worth finding someone here who can set the template up or whether it would prove prohibitively expensive? There are over 600 pages of content to copy over so if I can spare myself going grey learning Joomla, it might be worth paying someone here.....

    Cheers
