Site Design / Navigation

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the
design / navigation of my site www.mysteriouspeople.com

Any suggestions for design changes to give a more professional
appearance (bearing in mind I'd like to keep a slightly spooky theme)?

Well for starters, interesting website!
Anyways concerning navigation, you might want to move the navigation panel to the right hand side of the layout and have it in drop-down menu.
This is will be way easier for your visitors to navigate around the site.
As for the pages maybe changing the background color of the pages to black so it matches your overall theme color which is 'Black'.

Just me opinion!

I think the layout is fine. As far as making the background black... possibly.
But I do see that you have a slight blue outline between sections, and I notice things like this tend to give the page a bit of a pop. Combined with the dark blue in the background, this probably makes the page feel a bit more 3 dimensional.

I have the feeling that if you made the background the same black, that it would make the page feel flatter. You probably don't want that. Maybe a really dark grey would work, but thenagain I think it's just fine.

 

Thanks for the input. I do think the brighter blue sets the page off a bit.
Best not to overdo it with those glaring colours though.

 

A good site, poss need to change the banner at the top, looks a little blury around the text and edges or may be it's to scare you a little! excellent pr throughout the site, well done ... you must be pleased.

Nice site / great subject.

I don't think the current site looks unprofessional just a little dated. If I were you I'd stick with the dark colour-scheme. If you fancy a change, take a look at> http://www.openwebdesign.org/ and browse the lightondark schemes - should find something that fits the bill.

Thanks - yes it has a kind of dated feel. Hopefully a new banner will
alter that a tad. I will certainly look through the openwebdesign site.

 

I'm liking the whole simplicity of it. Your content's great too. It could use a little touching up but it's not something I would concern myself with too much.

 

Interesting topic, kind of creepy with those pictures. Fits the domain name.

 

very intruiging idea, but how bout less use of old style table look, and looking up some web 2.0 techniques. you can probably even find some free templates to begin your work from. the content is solid though!

 

I would probably use less tables if I knew how to do anything else, but it
was the easiest thing. Maybe I'll re-design with Dreamscape using a template.

 

the site looks good but i think you should change the background color from back to some other color. Also the navigation is good

I am in the top 10 search results for a lot of my keywords, though others are too competitive for my site to get very high in the ranking (Eg - 'psychics', 'poltergeist', 'strange')
