We're after a design for a web development company. The concept of the business is to find solutions for a businesses online needs. The logo features a jigsaw puzzle piece as we consider ourselves to be helping clients to put all the pieces together. We wish to use the existing logo and therefore the colors should compliment the logo. See logo attached. Design must be no wider than 1024px. We intend for the body of the site to be fixed width but the background to be fluid. Navigation to include: Home, About, Services, Projects, Learning Centre, Contact. Sub-navigation will be necessary is some sections but not others. Site should include a side-bar for featuring projects and highlighting other content on the site. The design must have a "wow factor" and not be too boring, however it must be professional/corporate. Expecting two page layouts (as layered PSDs), one for the home page and another for sub-pages. Some designs we like: http://themeforest.net/item/memex-business-portfolio-blog-template/full_screen_preview/41552 We like this design because it's got some curves in it, it also has a few nice elements in it. You also note how the sub-page is just a slightly modified version of the home page. Obviously the colour scheme doesn't match our logo. www . edit-studios . com We like this design because again the content isn't too structured. Will run for 4 days. $150 prize via PayPal.
Sorry for the confusion. No need to code it, just show how the navigation would look. I was thinking the sub-navigation could be part of the side-bar (as done in the first example site I provided) but if you are thinking of having it expand/drop from the main navigation, just illustrate this by having one item expanded. Hope that clarifies it.
Here's our concept: we kept it simple and pro with small touches here and there, making the template interactive and user friendly. please provide feedback. thanks
Do you have a PSD or a large rendered PNG version of the logo? Edit: I figured since you showed some examples that you liked, I'd make something very similar just designed to fit your logo colors instead though. Here it is. Hope you like it. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1296/mainn.png http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/3813/subpage.png
Hello Jscowen, Here is my entry for this contest,i would like some feedback regarding my design if possible.Thank you.
Thanks for the entries so far. @RaduTRIFAN: I like this design. The colors are good. The puzzle graphic is a little "corny" - prefer something simple. I also don't like the different font size and style changes in the red bar and body heading. Also, don't know if it really has the "wow" factor but still a good entry. @jeezy17: Obviously heavily influence by the example site, we didn't want to duplicate the site that much. The other issue is the logo blending it to the header - the grey on grey doesn't work. @awd: very creative however I don't think it suits a professional/corporate web site.
Here is my go : Please provide feedback ... I'm not sure if the main navigation... is too thick/wide...
My entry: This idea is from another contest that I didn't win. I think that the main page could be used as the sub-page. In my oppinion to be a subpage the text/images that are at the left of the news needs to be changed. Feedback appreciated. Changes can be made.
Here is my entry. A few things should be noted first. This entry is a downsized scale. If the thread creator would like a full size scale, just PM me and one can be arranged. Best Regards
@Proficient: Nice design, perhaps little plain. The project image in the header seems a little too short. The main body area is a little plain - could do with some more effects to give it some more interest. There could be too much red. @cgoly01: Probably our favourite at the moment. Yes, I think the menu items are too big however the menu bar itself is probably OK. A bit too much gap above and below the menu too. @megaxx: A bit too incomplete to judge however it seems like it could be quite dark. Also our logo on a grey background is a bit challenging so would need to see how you handle that. @DrZapp: Looks very blank to the right of the logo, especially if the menu wasn't dropped down. @bizzard: Nice, like the color scheme but it's not really interesting to look at. Need some extra effects / curves to give it some "wow".
