A few months ago we redesigned an awfull looking site with a listing of 11 in G for main keywords. We kept the URL file structure, meta info and page titles the same and about 80% of our content. We have been working with an SEO company for 8 months and our rank has over the last few (6) weeks dropped to 35+. We have done everything they have asked and they claim the drop is our fault. Our company has 10 sites and if I had time I would do all the SEO work myself, unfortunately I do not. If you SEO experts would be so kind as to recommend a "reputable" company I would be most greatfull. I have already looked into a dozen or so but would really apreciate advice from those more knowlegeable in the field with hands on experience with a specific company. Thank you in advance
Post the url and we can probably say why the ranking has dropped, especially if you let us know what your seo company has been doing off-site (ie buying text links?). Edit: stick your link in your signature, that will help the rankings move back up again.
I would love to tell you what they have been doing off site, unfortunately that seems to be proprietary information that they will not disclose, and they have done zip to the content. Here is the url http://www.premiermassagechairs.com
Thats another point to separate content and desing (XHTML and CSS). If the source code changes (content + structure) SE will reposition the site for good or bad.
I didn't know that Google even cares about the design of somebody's website....I doubt that's the case also, check to see if anything else changed! In addition, one of your competitors could have moved up Google's ranks and achieved a better rank than you, did your Page Rank go down?
