Site defrauding cpm networks

I have been a regular visitor here at digitalpoints. Recently someone send me a link to a page to download a file:

    http://s49.yousendit.com/invalid.aspx
    http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0T3IL51O9O3R2B79KN6NADZLX

The pages reload ads from several ad networks (tribal fusion, valueclick media, etc.)

If you have contact with those networks it'll be good to let them know about this site.

I went ahead and contacted one of the networks, but I haven't received any reply. I'm not a publisher or advertiser.

Can someone confirm if the site in question is reloading ads from several networks? I think they might be using geotargeting to cover their tracks.

Did I post this in the wrong forum?

It seems that finally some of the CPM banners had been deactivated. Pages still reload every 5 secs and show now Google ads, at least from where I'm located (not USA). I used a proxy server from USA and CPM banners from doubleclick.com still appear.

In case you want to calculate how much money they have been defrauding, according to adbrite the traffic stats for that site:
Pageviews per day : Over 2,200,000
Unique users per day : Over 390,000
    Alexa rank : 569
    Repurchase rate : 21.05%
    Conversion Score : No Data
    AdBrite since : February, 2006
Origin of traffic : United States, Taiwan
Avg cost per click (eCPC) : $0.29
Responsiveness : This publisher generally approves new ads or edits in 5 hours
Site Category: Arts & Entertainment > General

The cost for advertising on this site is as follows:

    1-Day Text Link $180.51
    7-Day Text Link $1,132.13
    30-Day Text Link $4,332.13
    Pay per click

    Days: 7
    Avg CPC: $0.32
    Avg total clicks: 3,497

Don't know if adbrite allows page reloading? Couldn't find their TOS.

Put something in the title about Adsense if you want to get everyone's attention:D

I e-mailed a few of the networks yesterday with the URL's you posted.

That's not Adsense, just a look alike. Are you sure any of those ad providers prohibit what that site is doing?

The adsense ads only appear when no cpm banners are available to display in the 728x90 and 300x250 ad spaces. There are also some cpm banner ads that resemble adsense ads, but they are images. The ones at the bottom are from adbrite, which I'm not sure if they allow page reloading. The other networks: tribalfusion, valueclick media, doubleclick, etc. do not allow ad reloading.

I'm not sure how they allowed their ads to appear in subdomains, if anyone else tries to do this it won't be allowed.

    Thanks!

And with 2 million a day they are very probably premium Advertisers with their own set of TOS - how can u say they are breaking TOS when you dont know which TOS they have to adhere to?

I can't see the point in the page refreshes. That alone would make me exit rather than look at what someone sent me, let alone encourage me tor click on an ad. Opens up another pop-up too. But hey, if these networks want to blow their advertisers' money this way (or an advertiser even chooses it) then that's their choice.

It's not exactly what I'd call Value For Money, for advertisers, personally, though.

If the networks don't know by now, they will do soon and pull anything they're not happy with.

It turns that in the end is not a question of breaking TOS of ad networks, but about the suitability of the site to display ads, the service may host illegal downloads.

Advertisers may have a different opinion.

Well, if advertisers aren't happy with a campaign then they can pull or change it. You never know, some advertisers might be paying really low CPM due to the amount of daily impressions so they feel it's worth it compared to x amount CPC on a less 'grey area' website.

Although people upload dodgy material to sites such as rapidshare.de it is against their TOS, they cover their a**** - or try to.
