    Hello,
My video site has been around for a year and has been getting good positions on google search engine. If I switch it over to SEO friendly link, how is it going to affect my site position on google?

    current link: wxw.mysite.com/something?play=122
    will switch over to: wxw.mysite.com/the_title_of_the_video

will i lose my position on google?
would it be a bad switch or a good switch?
anything else i should be concerned about?

If it is hosted on Wordpress, use redirection plugin to forward old URLs to new ones. Otherwise manually do it. That should help.

does that mean my old link will be wiped off search engines?
and new link will take time to gain position in SE?

It means you won't lose your traffic and in time Google will recognize the new URLs and replace the old URLs with them.

Well rewriting from dynamic urls to static is a good idea but dont forget to use 301 redirects else u will lose all ranking.
