site:/domain.com gives different results than site:domain.com in google. I have long had suspicions that the site:/ command will tell you how many pages you have in the google index that are not in supplemental. What are your thoughts about this, and if you have not tested this function yet, I'm pretty sure it will give you something to think about.
Thanks!! I hv tested this command. first i hv used with site:domain.com so they displayed 51 indexing links then try with site:/domain.com so they displayed 39 indexing links so rest of the links wud be under supplymental result?? n 39 is vry unique. !!
seems like site:/domain.com will also display pages indexed from other domains which end in 'domain.com' it's like a *domain.com while site:domain.com will display only results from the 'domain.com' and it's subdomains
Well I have not found results from other domains using the site:/ command, I always get less result than site: and that makes me think it is filtered more. My origianal thoughts were that the results is only showing pages that are not in supplemental. I'm in no way certain about this.
perhaps [ site:/ ] does ignore some pages By the way "/" can be used as following ways site:/*/yahoo.com and site:/*/*/yahoo.com eg: http://www.google.com/search?q=site:/*/*/yahoo.com
