I have a website, blog, www.ayanev.com (around 150 pages), I have also http://beers.ayanev.com there (0 indexed), and http://news.ayanev.com (around 1000 indexed). When I run "site:www.ayanev.com" I'm getting 120-150 in different DCs, for http://beers.ayanev.com - 0, for news.ayanev.com - 880-1000, but when I run "site:ayanev.com"(without www. prefix) I'm getting 10x more than I actually have at all 9290-9700 in different DCs Not bad, almost 10 000 indexed pages in under 20 days, without using subdomains
Yup, I checked the results 10 times before posting - same results No "-" or something in the URLs... So, I'm in the club Thanks for greeting me If I get from somewhere 100 000 more pages in the next 15 days will I get VIP in your club ?
You might have an indexing problem, since: http://www.google.com/search?q=site:ayanev.com+-site:news.ayanev.com shows so few compared to site:ayanev.com, site:news.ayanev.com, and etc. added together. Give it a few days, and check again. If the numbers do not come closer together, you might look at the printer friendly pages. There is a possibility that you could be - or soon will be - triggering a duplicate penalty.
Yup, google has real problems lately with pages that have letters and words in their domains. Try nonsensical gibberish from now on like 8767asdk8sl.33sls.info and you'll do great
NetMidWest, I'm mathematics guy, so this is strange.... I have: C=9700 indexed pagez (total for ayanev.com), B=900 pages for news.ayanev.com A=140 pages for www.ayanev.com In your search string we should have C-B=A, but we dont have this 9700-900 != 140 ... edit I mean, if you are right, then the site: is not working in both cases
Yes, it is not working right... here's a good thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=115052 After a little study with your site and d/c's, you should check this one out: http://216.239.57.104/ The d/c's that show decreased numbers for site: search may well be correct... Try this search: http://216.239.57.104/search?q=alli...m+-site:beers.ayanev.com+-site:www.ayanev.com Clicking on 'repeat the search' brings up a number that is about 50 less.
just browse thru the results, had the same with a domain containing 1k pages. google ESTIMATES the number to 9.7K. If i browse them google knows exactly 940 pages... so the are estimating the wrong number in their totals...
Yes pip, I know there are no 10 000 pages in *.ayanev.com, but googlers are saying that site: is fixed... fixed, just one more thing left to be fixed estimated # of pages NetMidWest, respect for spending your time on my notes. Thanks
