im thinking of starting a stock photo site. My roomate can do all the photography, and i the website. how much would this kind of site be worth if it had at least 1000 photos?
That all depends on the age of site, page rank, and how many visitors it recieves. All sites in my opinion are valued by these three indicators and not much else really.
JasMate makes a valid comment, but left out perhaps the most important factor. Unique content. Sounds like you would at least have that going in your favor. But, doing something with that will be the tricky part.
Yeah should have mentioned that Your photos will be unique which is good and will bring in many visitors if the site is marketed properly but photos are not words and it is words that will make the engines happy so make sure you get enough words as well as pics
Stock photo sites charge a lot. I'd say your 1000 photos are valuable in and of themselves, as long as the photos are professional-looking and applicable to some customers. A site like that is probably worth at least $1,000 to somebody.
i agree, at least 1000$ was my estimate, with a good site design and structuring according with good seo, it seems it would be worth a lot more after a few months of marketing.
I would have to disagree on the value. I believe you can't put a value on a site without more info. Perhaps you would say how much would it be worth if I had: 1000 photos (type and quality of photos) such and such uniques a day such and such page hits etc. It can be worth zilch (pictures of dirt) or skys the limit. (If they were pictures of say Brad Pitt cheating on Angelina etc)
oops i thought i said above, my roomate is a professional photographer with all the equipment needed. Also they are stock photos, pictures of buildings, people, things, and places.
