Hi there my site was accepted to google news, after alot of hard work just wanted to know when my site will start showing on googlenews, iv set up my sitemap on friday...doesnt seem to be indexing it yet google-news-sitemap.xml Type: News URLs submitted: 8 URLs in web index: 0
Google does not guarantee anything showing up. You are competing against the top news sites and blogs. You are dealing with an automatic algorithm, not a human. I don't know what the odds are of a normal joe having their site show up in google news, but it's got to be pretty low. Unless you are cnn, fox, ap, reuters, NYT, etc., you have got to have a unique and popular blog/news site. But then, you'd be there already. I guess there's always a slim chance. You don't really need to submit the site. If it's worth putting in google news, it's there already. Unless you are referring to something other than the regular google news. Stephen C
its a film news, interviews, feature site.....fingers crossed some of my posts will started hitting google news soon, audience is building thankfully
I think Google will start seeing latest updates from your RSS Feed and once you have new news items published on your website, should get live on Google News in the next 20-30 minutes time only
@ozzie and aadisharma, Seems like you do not understand fully how GNs are working nowadays. They do not need any sitemaps and RSS. Google bot will constantly crawl for the new files in that directory which you have specified during your submission. If they find a new file, they parse the content and extract the news content from this file.
