Hows everbody doing? Be easy on me, im still very much a newb at all of this...

I recently just purchased a dedicated server to put abunch of my sites on..My package came with 10 dedicated IPs that i can use...

So far i have created 1 account and added 1 site to the server....I am about to put up the second site tonight on the server...

It is to my understanding that if your linking Site A to Site B, via something like a keyword footer link and Google notices that the sites are running on the same IP that they could sort of look at the links as "spam"...Whether or not that is true im not really sure, but its what ive read more then a few places...

If i create a new account on the server for Site B and assign a different IP to the website, will this have an effect and have google looking at the backlinks in ways not associated with spam?

If you have a network of sites all running on the same server, just with different IPs this would be better then have a network of sites on the same server running the same IPs, correct?

My question my seem a little bit thrown around, or missing something in the middle...Forgive me, im confused myself...Just want to be able to link Site A to Site B without Google Bots being like "Hey, this is a network of sites just targeting keywords...tisk, tisk, tisk"

Your 10 IP's are likely all in a row so the difference between the site being on the same IP and IP's "near" each other won't be much. It sounds to me like your provider it either giving away IP's too easily or that you will be wasting them. Either way, I'd recommend group sites that belong together on the same IP if anything so if something goofy happens you can always get to the main site for each set of domains by the IP address. Warning, if you are creating sites that are nothing more than link farms to each other you'll get penalized no matter what IP addresses they are hosted on.

They have to be on different IP address to avoid any penalty from google.
