What can you tell me about 'Site A' linking to 'Site B' with specific keywords.... I own 2 sites and i was wondering if i would receive any sort of penalty from Google if i put links to my second site on my first site...I would place the link somewhere in the footer or in the sidebar out of the way, just there to pick up the backlinks... I just want to link site a to site b and that its....I would not be including a link of Site B back to Site A Both sites are hosted through Blue Host and both are on the same server under the same account....Not sure if you need info like that but if im not mistaken i read somewhere that if the sites are on the same server it can be bad cause it looks like your just spamming links to your own sites...I dont know if that is true or not, or if that includes severs where there are 100s of sites listed on them.... Any info you can give me would help..
Erhm... I'm pretty sure google doesn't mind you advertising your own site. You answered it yourself - If you don't spam then google won't punish you.
Google's well aware of this fact. If you want to do this, you're going to have to ask your host nicely if you can have more than one IP allocated, or pay for the privilege at least. My best advice is to use 'nofollow', or use a different host.
Just don't make it a site wide link. Put one link from the home page and you'll be fine. If the two sites aren't related then you run the risk of the link being devalued. If the sites are related then you should do it for sure.
my site is updated daily...So the only way for me to put it on the main page would be to put it in the footer, which would make it sitewide..... maybe ill just put it in text and not actually link it...just to get the site name out there
