Without doubt, the international financial crisis severely impacted China's printing industry, especially export-oriented processing companies in the eastern coastal areas. However, a series of policies geared towards expanding domestic demand, promoting employment and ensuring economic growth from Q2 in 2009 saw Chinese printing companies gradually begin to recover. According to the Chinese printing industry’s annual statistics, last year, the number of printing companies in China fell by about 15% year on year, yet the number people employed by the industry increased about 16%, while the industry’s total output value went up by more than 10%.

SinoFoldingCarton 2010, to be held in Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center, Dongguan, from April 7 to April 9, has secured the participation of a considerable number of exhibitors. A fact that organizers believe to be symptomatic of the recovery trend that began in 2009.

Several leading domestic and international carton equipment and raw materials suppliers have already confirmed their participation in the exhibition. They include Bobst, Tianjin Changrong, STS, ASAHI, TANABE, Henan Xinji, Caiyi, Hongming, Yaoke, Shanghai Eterna, Micron, Tokyo Wenhong, HongJing, Modern Top, Shunjingyuan, Lishunyuan and Hangzhou Wutai. In total, the exhibition will feature more than 500 exhibitors, as well as live demonstrations of more than 800 pieces of the folding carton’s and corrugated industry’s latest innovations. Additionally, nearly 1000 types of raw materials will be on show. Over 20,000 professionals from around the world will visit the exhibition and more than 50 domestic and international trade associations will arrange delegations to attend. The exhibition will feature a full range of folding carton processing equipment, as well as new products, new technologies and the latest solutions - highlighting the rapid development of the global folding carton industry.

The unprecedented rate of early registration by visitors is another sign for the revival of the fortunes of many companies in the folding carton trade. According to a visitor survey conducted by the exhibition organizers at the last edition of SinoFoldingCarton, the six most common purchases were die-cutting equipment, laminating equipment, paper mounting equipment, gluing equipment, paper cutting equipment and paper folding equipment. Many pre-registered visitors plan to meet suppliers of packaging and printing related equipment which can improve efficiency and cut costs, on-site.

Reed Exhibitions is tireless in its pursuit of intelligent innovation, excellent service and stellar results. As it continues to grow and develop, SinoFoldingCarton is gaining ever more support from industry associations around the world. Many such associations, including the Nation's Printing, Publishing and Paper Processing Technology Suppliers Association (NPES); the Northern India Printing Alliance (NIPA); the Shenzhen Packaging Industry Association; the Guangzhou Packaging and Printing Industry Association and the Zhongshan Printing and Packaging Industry Association, have expressed their intent to participate in the exhibition in various forms, with the aim of establishing strategic, bilateral alliances that will lead to long-term cooperation.
