Single page site - targeted keyword - no adsense - as feeder site?

Hi all, I was wondering if it is worth having a single page site optimized for a specific keyword/phrase. I was thinking of using it as a sort of feeder site to my main site, so all the links on the feeder site point to my main site. I am not planning on having any adsense on the site.

Any idea if the single page site would get anywhere in the SERPs?

    Thanks for any advice.

I 'm not sure I understand the advantage of this in comparison with putting a special attractor page within your main site itself.

YES, depending on my experience you can rank a single page web site while it's not a door ways so you have to include content on it as well then you can link it to your main website.

billybw: I was just guessing that a single page/site optimized for a single key phrase might rank better that a sub page of a site plus the key phrase is in the domain name?

IEmailer.com: I was planning on having content so fingers crossed it will help.

    Thanks to both of you.
