You know there are a lot of single-function software available. Let’s say registry cleaner, privacy cleaner, internet optimizer etc and each one is priced $30. In the past, the people will buy many to cure their computers, but at the same time that would cost them a lot. So now more and more people start to choose multi-function software, they combine registry cleaner, privacy cleaner and internet optimizer together. Let’s say them as system optimization software, and also they are priced about $30. If the people choose system optimization software, then they will save a lot, but at the same time, more people will buy it. They think they have more value added services by paying less.

Another reason that more people start to choose multi-function software is that it is easy to manage the software. If they have a lot, it takes time to manage these software and their license. It would become an annoying daily job.

Now if you were a user, which one you prefer to buy?

Personally, I like having a tool that does one thing very well. I wouldn't want a file converter that doubled as a graphic editing program. I think it depends entirely on the situation really. Some tools are suited to come in bundles or as a single program because they are related, and some are suited to just being a standalone.

Generally, customers will be looking to get the cheapest available with the best features. If they're going to have to buy several products for $100 or a bundle for $40, they're probably going to go for the bundle most times.

Speaking from marketing experience, it's far easier to SELL a program which does 1 thing.

The customer has a clear idea in their head of what they want, and they just need to be shown something that does that 1 thing in order for them to buy it.

Call me crazy but it's true. Imagine wanting to clean your registry, but find this program which helps u clean ur registry, fix ur internet explorer and some other stuff.... you're going to think that the reg cleaner isnt going to be very good, and that's what will put people off buying the all-in-one
