Okay, so my ideology is that Google ranks pages of your website based on the keyword you're trying to rank for (and the density of that keyword on the page). WordPress blogs usually list posts from ALL categories on the home page, and although your categories are related to your main niche keyword (e.g., main niche kw = money making; category kw = affiliate marketing), is it better perhaps to list posts from only one of the categories on your home page? So, while I'm trying to rank for the keyword "money making" and my homepage itself mostly has other keywords "affiliate marketing, SEO, social marketing, email marketing, etc etc (you get the point)" isn't that BAD for SEO, or am I completely mistaken? OR is the idea to rank your homepage (index page) for ALL keywords (for all the different categories, so instead of just "money making", rank for all the other keywords related to your category as well)? I would LOVE some opinions and thoughts on this from the professionals here at digitalpoint.
The Google algorithm isn't something that can be manipulated that easily. Yes, keyword density does play a role, but it's miniscule in the bigger scheme of things. Also, big G is a semantic search engine. It has the capability to recognise associated keywords.
Finally, a response from someone that looks like they know what they're talking about. So in your opinion, SEO doesn't really relate to money making does it? How can I check if certain keywords are associated and whether or not Google will pick up whether the keywords are associated or not? Say for instance email marketing, would that be associated with money making etc even if the post itself only has a few mentions of email marketing? Thing is I'm trying to optimize not just for Google but other search engines as well, do the search engines offer some sort of SEO guides to optimize for their engine?
What anchor texts are you using for your links? What keywords do you have in your title for your homepage? The above two have greater weightage in Google than keyword density. Also should your main homepage have a good link profile and G trust, ranking your categories, posts and other deep pages becomes much easier.
