The overture bid tool isn't gone, their servers have been running very erratic lately. I think Yahoo released some sort of statement on the matter a while back, not 100% sure though. Edit: Actually my bad, I'm talking about the keyword tool.
Hi there, Thanks for your recent post. To answer your question, Yahoo! Search Marketing’s public keyword research tool (formerly known as the Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool- KST) continues to exist today and will continue to exist until we replace it with an improved product. You can access it at the following url: http:// inventory.overture.com The responsiveness to this free tool is diminished due to the sheer volume of hits it receives each day, so browsers may time out and error pages may appear but it doesn’t mean that this tool has been removed. Hope this helps. Best, YahooSarah
Yes. It looks like the famous, excellent Overture Bid Tool is gone forever. To find some typical keyword bids at Google (plus associated keywords), one can use the External Adwords bid tool at - https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal Enter your keyword(s). Under "Choose Data to Display", select "Cost and Position Estimates". Type in 5 for $5.00. Click on "Get More Keywords". Seems to work great. Opinions?
I had heard recently that Yahoo is indeed going to get rid of the Keyword tool. Sara is there any truth to this?
Hi there, Sorry for the confusion. Yes, the Overture Bid Tool has been removed from the URL provided above. However, we offer enhanced bidding and forecasting tools in our new search marketing system, here is a link with more information: http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/ysm/cn/tu/tutorial_bidding4.swf?s wp=1&ref=DTCalert -To open forecasting tools at the keyword level, click one of your Sponsored Search or Content Match bids, or click a specific keyword on the Ad Group Details page. -To estimate how many clicks you may receive for a particular bid, use the Estimated Clicks per Bid feature, including the slider bar graph. For guidance on how much you might need to bid to place your ad in the top positions, refer to the Bid Range for Top Positions. And just to confirm- I do work for Yahoo! and I am a rep for Yahoo! on this message board. Thanks, YahooSarah
