Since overture closed, where are these "keyword tools" getting data from?

I'm trying to find a keyword tool since overture closed. I see lots of supposed keyword trackers but I'm pretty skeptical considering the fact they don't own a search engine to pull legit and accurate results from.

Plus all the inconsistencies on the different trackers, I have a feeling these trackers are no more accurate than the ridiculous PR prediction tools.

    Thoughts?

Free or paid tools? I know of at least one piece of software (Adword Analyzer) that switched from Overture to Wordtracker results, but I haven't paid attention to other ones lately.

I also think that the keyword tools in the recent times that have cropped up are not accurate.:)

There are not that many tools with their own unique keyword databases, so would be good to know which ones you are referring to?

    Cheers
