How will people in the future value sites for getting links? Looking at total # and quality of backlinks?
Why does everyone care so much about Page Rank? Dont you know its only one small equation in the hundreds of factors that goes into SERPs? Google has allready said itself (in its non-disclosed way) that they are eliminating Page Rank because webmasters make money on buying and selling links based on PR to manipulate ranking positions. Prime example is the guy who bought a non-droped PR5 domain and turned it into some crappy autoblog and now sells "blog posts" and "blog roll links" for rediculous amounts of money. The content is crap and google knows that and the site is only there for links. So you can blame that guy (or yourself) why your PR5 autoblog is now worthless. So get over PR, page rank does not make or break a website. Create good content and links will come naturally.
Well PR is not waht will help you rank..but it does gives some authority..and peopel will look at PR just like me..they will..OK that site has a PR of 4 good for them..thats pretty much it. "Black Seo Guy "Signing Off"
PR doesn't have the weight it use to. It's as if it is there for entertainment more than a useful SEO function. I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm just talking in terms of the buying/sell links industry. Many of the link sales are based a good deal on toolbar PR. I'm wondering if link sales may start heading downward since it may be harder to tell which links are worth buying.
Infact its the quality content and backlinks which drives traffic to the site.... PR is of value but now i guess not...
