Hello, I am trying to make my first SMF forum. I'm trying to use the "package manager" smf feature for downloading mods. However, I have to enter my "server name" and "url" for ftp information. Does anyone know where I can find this from my hostgator account (I looked everywhere and I couldnt find it. I did find something that said my server name and nameserver urls (2 of them). But these didnt work...) thanks for the help
You don't need to worry about that. Simply log into your hostgator account and look for the section 'Software / Services' (probably at the bottom of the screen). In this section you should see an icon called fantastico. Click on there. Fantastico is basically a piece of software that installs php scripts for you. On the left hand side you have a menu. Simply click on SMF Forum and then follow the instructions. Hope this helps.
