Simple Way to track AdWords conversions - but strange results...

I have tried a very simple AdWords tracking mechanism:

    - In my AdWords ads, I set up a special landing page address:
    www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm#AW001

So when someone clicks on the ads served by Google, they go to www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm but my web server stats log the real URL www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm#AW001.

Other ads/key words I set up with www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm#AW002, www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm#AW003, etc.

When I click on my served ads, this works beautifully - my server stats show my IP address and the full URL (eg www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm#AW001 or www.mydomain.com/LandingPage.htm#AW002 etc).

But, the clicks of other visitors are not logged

As my site gets a fair bit of organic traffic, I cannot determine if I am getting any paid clicks at all... But AdWords and AdWords Conversion Monitoring are happily recording conversions ...

    What is going on?

    K

PS: I logged only 2 other clicks - from Google staff in Mountain View and New York, when they reviewed one of my new ads...
