Applying good SEO practice for your website is not too difficult as you might thought. Indeed, there are simple steps and easy Search Engine Optimization tips to make your website better in the eye of web spider, and of course, to your valuable visitors.

Use and Optimize Google Sitemaps
Google has provided this tool in order to help Webmasters, called Webmasters Central. Make your website sitemap, and push it to Google site maps. Although this would not guarantee that your site will be get higher rankings, but it does guarantee that your website will be crawled better.



Make Good Link Anchor Text
People always keep asking me : "Is that good using automated software for building links, and anchor link text and submit it to , say, 1000 link directory ?". I would say "No." Why ? This will generate all links in the same type and anchor text, and most important, the search engine will think that this is not natural (it is NOT natural). What they will bring you is just harm your rankings, or even penalise your website.



Write Contents Related To Your Search
If you intended your website to be SEO site, that write article related to SEO, don't make too far from it. For example, you can see in this NgaduTrafik 2007 website which talk and discuss about Search Engine Optimization tips and tricks.



Monitor Your Competitors
Okay, this is a tricky tips. Watch what your competitors doing, and do follow if it's good. There are services out there that can provide you with report of what your competitors do e.g. Where they get traffic, keywords generate traffic and which search engines they're optimizing.



Last But Not Least : Don't Make It Too Much
I saw some people getting frustrated, and just make it over the limit : keyword stuffing their websites, make entry with all keywords they have all over the website. One even go further with make all html file names to : hey_this_is_my_keyword.html, hey_it's_me.html, etc. Please note guys that meta tags is not considered, unless you have a good content related to it in your website.
