centos is a community fork of RHEL.
    I'd suggest using centos.

Fedora releases are supported for only about a year at a time, so once that year is up, it becomes much harder to get updates. CentOS, since it is based on RHEL, is supported for 7 years. It is also generally more stable.

I use Fedora Core on one machine and CentOS on another machine. Both are RH-based and both have proven relatively solid performers. It is important to clearly define what services you want to offer on your machine and turn off those that you do not want to offer. This saves resources and reduces security worries. The only ports open to the world on one machine are SSH and Apache. On the other machine, I have these two plus email and a POP server.
